Mr. Whiskers
I wanted to make something really special for my sister-in-law for Christmas this year. My husband, Johnny, suggested a cat and drew a picture for me. Mr. Whiskers here, is what I came up with. I love this guy so very much!
My hope is to make up some DIY kits to sell in the Teetoo Etsy Shop. If you are interested in making a Mr. Whiskers for yourself, please let me know so that I can contact you when and if a kit for him becomes available. Oh, on second thought, I can't resist adding a new Mr. Whiskers made to order listing. Hopefully I'll get a kit in the shop too, but I really want to make another one of these guys!
His sweet little kitty paws are definitely one of my favorite things about him.
Lately, I've been relishing staying up way past my bedtime, snuggling with my cat, reading, dancing and being silly with the kids and watching more Sons of Anarchy than is good for anyone.
Have a fun weekend!

Warm Wishes From A Frozen World
The past few days have been snow and ice. It's been incredible to see everything completely covered in ice. Many people in the city have been out of power for days. We've been fortunate in that only our internet has been down. I went out yesterday to take some photos of the beauty of the frozen world before it melts away.
The sunset last night sparkling through the ice on the tress was so gorgeous. This photo doesn't do it justice, it was absolutely magical.
I'll be back in a few days, once the busyness of the season dies down a bit, with some photos of some of the sewing projects I've been working on- a new cat stuffie, a beautiful pom pom trimmed pillow and an adorable little girl's nightgown that I'm completely in love with.
Whatever holiday you may be celebrating this season, I hope you enjoy it tremendously.

Winter and Yuletidey Things
We've been having a lovely time over the past few weeks enjoying the first of winter and getting ready for Christmas. I purchased Heidi Kenney and Amanda Krueger's, A Very Merry Advent Guide, and used the cute printable Santa paper and envelopes for our letters to Santa. We've enjoyed a few of the projects in the guide too and I must add that my very favorite thing about it are the four Christmas music playlists. We've been playing them almost every day. My favorite new Christmas song by far is Santa Mouse. I'd love to link to it for you but I can't find the version of the song that is on the playlist anywhere. Do you know it? Cutest Christmas song ever.
We were so excited to get replies to our letters in the mail from Santa!
The house has gotten quite festive. I purchased a little tree and we found a few new additions to our vintage Christmas decorations collection at the thrift store.
Oh, and I bought some handmade pom poms and made a garland for our front window.
And I thought I should add a few left over pom poms to the wreath I made a couple years back.
The kids had fun decorating a gingerbread house with one of the lovely girls who care for them through the week after school.
And the weather has been a perfectly Canadian winter- lots of beautiful and cold snow and ice.
I've also been sewing a lot. I will share some of the projects that I've been working on soon.
Have a wonderful week and keep warm!
